Mega Pixels
Does it matter what the amount of mega pixels are for a digital camera?
I just want the pretty pictures. Therefore, I see 5 mega pixels, 6, 7.2, 8. Does it matter who is? can you tell the difference in photo quality between 5 and 8 MP? Sugjest What would you do?
Be people hate the "it depends" type of answer, but that's what applies here. If you want to take pictures consistenly large as 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 or larger, then yes, you have to have the biggest MP. If you think you are not going well above 8 x 10, 5 megapixels will be fine. Note that with a point and shoot, as MP higher the number, usually the worse the picture will be seen in higher ISO, because there are too many small sensors and sensor crammed into a too small. Manufacturers most people know only match the "quality" with a number of MP, so they keep bringing more and more sensor ... when in many cases does little to no effort to improve the quality of the photo ... just bigger. steve
